This unique [removed phone]' Nimble Kodiak Motorsailer is powered by one of the world's most advanced high torque low rpm, environmentally safe electric motors (used by NASA for space vehicles including Mars Sojourner). The bank of 10 absorbed glass mat nonspillable, maintenance free batteries produce 144 volts and are partially recharged as the prop turns while the boat is sailing. A Honda 2000 gas generator provides additional charging power when necessary. The battery monitor with LED multicolor bar graph and digital display shows time remaining and amp hours consumed. The servo drive for driving brushless DC motors at high switching frequency provides full protection against over and under voltage, overheating and short circuits. This one owner boat has been kept on a boat lift since it was delivered in 2003. The owner, who worked for EPA, wanted to create the most environmentally friendly motorsailer he possibly could.
